About Your Crochet Instructor

Hi, I’m Zaynab Bandukwala!

I’m a 16-year-old self-taught crochet artist, teacher, and small-business owner with over 5 years of experience in crochet.

I started my crochet journey by teaching myself through YouTube. What began as something I enjoyed doing in my free time slowly became a skill that I became truly passionate about. Over the years, I’ve learned, practiced, experimented with different techniques, and developed my own way of explaining crochet to others.

My Crochet Journey

Today, I run my own small crochet business @fann_by_z on instagram! check it out to see my work, where I create handmade crochet products and take custom orders. I’ve also had the opportunity to put up my work at multiple well-known carnivals, events, and stalls, allowing me to share my creations with many different people.

Alongside my business, I’ve always enjoyed teaching crochet. I’ve taught my friends, my sister, children, and adults, helping them go from knowing little or nothing about crochet to being able to create pieces of their own.

Why Learn With Me?

I believe crochet should be easy, enjoyable, and beginner-friendly. I explain things step-by-step and make sure students understand what they are doing instead of simply following instructions.
My classes will never be boring, instead they will be interactive fun and enjoyable, I'm good at connecting and talking to people :) (esp kids)

Whether you have never held a crochet hook before or already know the basics and want to learn more, I aim to make my classes comfortable and easy to follow.

I’m especially happy to teach children because I understand that everyone learns at a different pace. I’m patient, encouraging, and happy to explain a technique more than once when needed.

After five years of teaching myself, running my own business, selling my work at events, and teaching people around me, I’m excited to pass on everything I’ve learned and help more people discover crochet for themselves.

* Learn Crochet From the Very Beginning

This online crochet class is designed for beginners who want to learn crochet in a simple, fun, and easy-to-understand way.

Whether you’re a child trying crochet for the first time or an adult who has always wanted to learn, the classes will take you step-by-step from the basics to making your own crochet projects

*What We’ll Learn

Depending on your level, the class can cover:

* How to hold and use a crochet hook
* How to choose and work with yarn
* Making a slip knot and starting chain
* Basic crochet stitches
* Increasing and decreasing
* Reading and understanding simple crochet patterns
* Joining and finishing your work
* Making cute and useful crochet projects
* Tips and tricks I’ve learned through 5 years of crocheting

*How I Teach

My goal is to make sure you understand what you’re doing, rather than simply copying the steps. I explain each technique slowly and clearly, demonstrate it, and give you time to practice.

You can ask questions throughout the class, and if something doesn’t make sense the first time, I’m happy to explain it again.

* Who Is This Class For?

Complete beginners: No previous crochet experience needed.

Children: Simple, patient, and easy-to-follow teaching.

Adults: Learn the basics or improve the skills you already have.

Anyone who loves handmade crafts: Learn a creative skill that you can continue practicing and developing at home.

By the end of the class, my goal is for you to feel confident enough to pick up your hook and create something on your own.
